About

I spent more than 15 years figuring out how to figure things out. But there is no place where to share these lessons. So I’m sharing these lessons to you, here, in Practical Notes.

In a nutshell, this blog is about the steps, the joys and the benefits of learning—how to find out what you need to know, put them into practice and make a difference in your life (or to others).

About Practical Notes

Practical Notes by Jean A. Dee is a blog that houses important takeaways from my 15-year design practice, 10-year teaching profession, and 8-year creative and business consultancy. My topics of expertise are along the lines of Philippine textiles, design, teaching and business. Sometimes, it will include a little bit of art, science and slices of life. But it will ALWAYS OFFER SOME PRACTICAL VALUE TO YOUR LIFE.

If you like fluff and entertainment, this blog is not for you. Don’t waste your time and leave now.

BUT…

If you want to HELP YOURSELF and ACHIEVE something in any of the topics I mentioned, STAY.

READ.

Delight yourself with ideas you never thought possible. And if you can afford it. TRY. I hope to also hear from you when you do.

Each blog entry guides you to achieve something. These are my open notes to share. Because when you decide to TRY out something, it’s usually expensive and time consuming. I want to encourage you to experiment without spending a lot. So reading a blog entry or 2 will help you save some money and a lot of time.

I will not talk about things I’ve never tried nor experienced. I will not mention people, events or products just because they are popular or beautiful. I will only share to you valuable information that benefited me hoping that you will benefit from it too.

I will share what works.  No more, no less.

My hope for this blog is simple:
In every entry, I hope you learn from my mistakes and from the experience of the experts who taught me.

So, instead of repeating myself, I’m just going to write things down for you. (And eventually, make podcast recordings and film videos too.) Because time is more precious than ever.

I’ll do it in a way the simplest way possible—with less frills but more value. Because I know you are busy and you want to make the most out of your time. You want fast info and fast results. I want that for you too.

So if you’re a designer, a teacher, a student, an entrepreneur, or someone who’s interested in Philippine textiles, design, teaching, business with a little bit of art, science and slices of life, THIS BLOG IS FOR YOU.

And if you like it, learn from it or if it changes your life, LET ME KNOW. Email me at jean@jaddstudio.com.

Or… PAY IT FORWARD. Help others help themselves. Let’s inspire each other to grow.
